“I’m nominating Janice for the Values in Action award this month because she always puts her best foot forward and I love how much care she takes in growing and tending the gardens to get the best produce for the community.”
“Janice constantly goes above and beyond - she is our garden leader and also volunteers her time to make sure our community garden is well cared for. Janice also makes up our Care Packs for community members, takes Recycle Rewards donations to the depot, helps in the kitchen and anything else she can do to help. Janice is a great team player - nothing is too much trouble.”

She generously volunteers her time to provide relaxation and wellbeing support to workers, helping them manage stress and feel valued. Her thoughtful and caring approach contributes significantly to worker wellbeing and morale.
Catherine demonstrates fairness, empathy, integrity, kindness, connection, and belonging in everything she does. She exemplifies the values of Starting Point Neighbourhood House and is highly deserving of recognition as Worker of the Month.”“I believe that Cathrine is very deserving of the Worker of the Month award. She consistently demonstrates all of our values!
Cathrine is always willing to help wherever needed, whether it's in the gardens, shed, kitchen, events, or other activities. Her kindness and support make a positive difference to everyone around her.
We also greatly appreciate the wonderful massages Cathrine provides – they are a fantastic way to start the day! Thank you, Cathrine, for all that you do.”

“Rick has shown up for the house when it comes to the renovation in the reception room, previously in the opshop and also always speaks up when he has a way or knows someone that can do a better deal on a price- saving the house money!”
“Rick consistently goes above and beyond, always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed—regardless of whether it falls within his role. He’s a genuine team player with a strong commitment to supporting both his fellow workers and our community. Rick also has a great sense of humour and enjoys a joke and a laugh! And of course, a special mention for his famous “Eezy Peezy” sauce— it's a winner and raises money for SPNH - very much appreciated!”

SPNH History
Starting Point Neighbourhood House Inc (formerly Ravenswood Neighbourhood House Inc) commenced supporting the community in 1979 as a result of a needs analysis conducted within the Ravenswood community in Whiltshire Place.
Initially, we provided craft activities, a social meeting point for the community and formal day care.
In 1996, we moved from Whiltshire Place to our current location at 6 Prossers Forrest Road where we can be more central and accessible to people and offer more services to the community with a larger premise.
In 2016, we changed our name from Ravenswood Neighbourhood House Inc to Starting Point Neighbourhood House Inc to be more inclusive of the wider community in surrounding suburbs.
